We are changing our dial-up vendor.
Starting this Saturday, September 9,
the current dial-up phone numbers AND logins will no longer work. You
will need to change the dial-up settings to use a new phone number and
new login name.
It is important that you choose a dial-up phone number that is local to you.
A number in the list below MAY NOT ALWAYS BE a local number; you MUST ask
your phone company which numbers are in your local calling plan.
You will need
this number in the instructions below.
You will have to make a new dial-up connection icon, or modify an existing one to incorporate the new information.
On most versions of Windows, you can go to the Control Panel, choose Internet Options, choose the Connections tab from the Internet
Properties Window, and then click on Setup to get the Internet Setup Wizard, or New Connection Wizard.
Once you are in the Wizard, be sure to set up the new connection manually. Include the phone number you chose as the ISP's phone number, and set the user name to end in Your dial-up password remains the same. The other options can be set to your situation and preferences.
If you want to change your existing connection icon, all you need is the new phone number and the new username. Again, the new user name is just the old user name with added to the end, as in the example above. Your password and other items stay the same.
